The most exciting spiritual highlight of my life was when I won Joel Estime, a witch doctor, to the Lord. It did not happen in a day, it took a year or maybe more, but I learned that “what we do is more powerful than what we say.” When we began to have “Mobile Medical Clinics,” I decided to do one in Old Letant. I chose the biggest “tonnel,” but I never knew I was using the hut of a witch doctor where he had conducted Voodoo services and sacrifices. The Lord had told us “not to preach to him,” but just to let our lights shine. When Joel became a Christian, I asked him, “Joel, what made you come to the Lord?” He said, “Madamn Sherry, I hated missionaries! They just came, preached, took pictures and made promises. But you guys never preached, and I saw that you always kept your word.” No matter how bad that person is, the Lord’s hand is not shortened that He cannot save.
