“Don’t Let Your Past Chase You…”
In John 8:1, a woman was brought to Jesus in the Temple while He was teaching the Word of God. Again, it was the religious ones, the scribes and Pharisees, who caused all the problems. They cast her down at the feet of Jesus accusing her of adultery and then, quoted the Law of Moses that said she should be stoned. “But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.” John 8:6 – They continued asking, and He said, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” John 8:7 – Everyone left, and the woman was left with Jesus. He asked where her accusers were, and He said, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John 8:11 – From that moment, she was set free of her past. When Jesus forgives you, don’t let your past “chase you.” When Jesus forgives, it is buried like Pharaoh’s chariots in the “midst of the sea.” Keep looking ahead, never behind! Sherry
