“God’s Ways Are Perfect…” Part Two – “The Love Story”
Yesterday, we saw how God sent Naomi and Ruth back to Bethlehem…”at the beginning of barley harvest.” What a perfect plan. Ruth, the young, beautiful widow goes every day to glean in the fields and ends up in the section of the “older and very rich Boaz.” He was a man of mighty wealth. She has the “favor of God on her life, and she soon gains the favor of Boaz.” Naomi, her mother-in-law, sees this as God’s plan. She tells Ruth what to do and Ruth is obedient. When Boaz goes to sleep on the threshing floor, (a little too much wine) she uncovers his feet and lies down as a sign that she is also “next of kin.” Long story short…Boaz buys Naomi’s land, and marries Ruth. Ruth has a child. Grandma is happy, and oh yes, the child’s name is Obed. He will be the grandfather of a young man named, “David,” who will be the lineage of Jesus! And to think, some of us don’t have enough faith to believe that “God knows what He is doing and His ways are perfect!” Wow! Sherry
