You can take my coat, but you can’t take my dream! In the 37th chapter of Genesis, you learn how Joseph was a dreamer. He had dreams for the future, which the Lord gave him. Some people only live in the past, others live in the present, and others have dreams for the future. They live for the future knowing the Lord will do great things!
Don’t let anyone steal or take your dream from you. Joseph’s brothers took him and threw him in a pit. They took his coat of many colors and told their father Jacob that Joseph was dead. His brothers took his coat, but they could not take his dreams!
Esau had his birthright from his father Isaac. You know the story in chapter 25 of Genesis. On a hot day when Esau came in from the field hungry, he sold his birthright to Jacob, his brother, for a pot full of pottage. He sold out! He let his brother take his dream, and his entire future. Don’t let anyone take or steal your dream, which the Lord has put in your heart. There are two kinds of people…dream builders and dream busters! We are dream builders. You may take my coat, but you can’t take my dream! Bobby
