Faith says, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat…”
In Luke 5:1-9, the story is told of Jesus entering the fishing boat of Simon Peter. Jesus had to “push out a ways” from the crowd on the shore. He “knew Simon,” but Simon didn’t know Jesus. After Jesus preaches the Word, Jesus is going to “bless Peter” for the use of his boat. Jesus said, “Launch out into the deep.” But Simon said, “We have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.”
Well, well, well… They caught so many fish that their nets broke! So, Simon calls his fishermen friends to come and help with the loads of fish, and they came “with two ships!” But God’s blessings are so abundant that the “ships sank!” Ha! It sounds like the famous line from the movie “Jaws.” “We’re gonna need a bigger boat!” When your faith launches out, get ready! You’re gonna need a bigger boat!! God bless, Sherry
