“Don’t Settle for Something Less”

We have all done it sometime in our life. Maybe it catches you at a “down moment” or you are just “tired of the fight.” It may happen right after an accident, for which you were not at fault, but the insurance guy is right there at your heels trying to get you to “settle for something less.”

Little old “Daddy Mahan” was a short little man of God with snowy white hair. But he had a great gift of knowledge and if he told you something, it would come to pass. I guess you could call him a “devil chaser!” Once, there was some sort of an accident that happened in which the insurance man had come to his house to “talk about the terms.” The insurance man told Daddy Mahan, “Well, if you had done this or that,” and “I’m sorry, the insurance you had won’t take that!” Little did he know he was talking to a feisty little “power-house” full of the Spirit of God. Daddy Mahan jumped up out of his chair, started praying, and shook his fist at the insurance guy, and said, “I won’t settle for nothing! You told me if I had insurance, it would take care of this and that. I’ll see you in court!” He jumped up and said, “I’m not going to tell you again! I won’t settle for nothing!!” The little old white-headed man of God chased the insurance man out of his house, and you guessed it, Daddy Mahan got what he wanted!

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:13) If you are going through that fight today, I encourage you to “dig in your trenches” and stand firm. Don’t settle for nothing! God is on your side! This will be a great day!
