“Breaking and Entering”
Sometimes, when you’re facing an impossible situation, you want something from God and every door is shut in your face. There comes a time when “desperate faith” takes over! It’s when you need a miracle to happen so badly that you know you just have to get “God’s attention.” There is a story found in Mark 2:1-5 about some people who heard that Jesus was in someone’s house. The crowd had already heard of the miracles that this “Jesus” had done! But by now, there were possibly a thousand people crowded around the small house where Jesus was! There were so many people “that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door […] And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up (the roof), they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.” (Mark 2:2-4) The first thing Jesus did was to forgive the sins of the sick man. But then he said, “Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.” (Mark 2:11) You could say that these men were guilty of “breaking and entering!” But what Jesus saw was “desperate faith!” Today, you may need to do something “desperate” with your faith to get that miracle!! Do whatever it takes!
