Word from the Mission Field: 11-10-18 6:20 AM

“How long will you mourn? Fill your horn with oil…and go.”

1 Samuel 15:35 — The prophet Samuel had just given a severe message to King Saul about his disobedience to the Lord. Samuel is grieved in his spirit that Saul has not followed the Lord’s commandments. Samuel prophecies what will happen to Saul. They part. King Saul goes to Gibeah and Samuel goes to Ramah. Samuel doesn’t see Saul anymore until his death and Samuel mourns for Saul for a long time. Then, the Lord says, “That’s enough Samuel. You’ve cried over him long enough! Fill your horn with oil and I’m going to send you another king…” 1 Samuel 16:1-2 — There is a time to weep and a time to rejoice. Maybe you have been “crying” over someone or something too long. Perhaps God is saying, “I have a better plan. Fill your horn and follow me!” Have a great day!!! Sherry
