“Don’t Look Back…”
“No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:62 – While in Haiti, many years ago, we had the occasion to come across oxen wagons pulling sugarcane. We were shooting footage for television. Bobby asked me to get on the wooden bar in front of the oxen, and talk about the sugarcane, the oxen and more. When I got up near those huge animals, and stepped on that tiny piece of wood, the ox cart began to shake. The Haitian man said, “These animals are dangerous! Be careful, you can die.”
I was so glad to get down. I thought about what Jesus said about putting your hands to the plow and looking back, or regretting following Jesus. There’s the “looking back” that God hates. So many people “start out as missionaries,” and then quit. The same is true for pastors and Christians. Never look back! The road ahead may be tough, but when you turn and look back, and take your hands off the plow, you may get “plowed over” by Satan. “Count the cost” before you put your hands to the plow. Have a great day and keep your eyes on Jesus! Sherry
