A Purpose “Bigger Than You…”

Human beings are a strange race… They often want to think of themselves as a big, important person. That’s why a lot of Christians fail to fulfill what God has in store for them. They have never learned to be “little before the Lord.”

Joshua was a great warrior, but he never boasted, never lifted himself up, and never bragged about taking the place of a great man of God, “Moses.” And when Moses died, it must have put “some kind of fear” in his heart, because God had to keep telling him, “Fear not!” But before Moses died, he gave a “Word of the Lord” to Joshua… “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” (Deuteronomy 31:6) Joshua had found his purpose, a purpose “bigger than him.” And if you ever find a purpose “bigger than you,” God will help you. So, be strong and of a good courage, and humble yourself before the Lord. Find that purpose “bigger than you,” and see what God does!
