God will use “whoever He wants…”
Isn’t it amazing how God will use someone to “bless you” or “to open a door for you,” and it will be someone you least expect? The “door” you need to get that job or to get into a university or whatever your need may be, the Lord wants us to “let go” and let God choose whom He will.
In 1 Kings 17, there was a great famine in the land. God had spoken by His prophet, Elijah, to Ahab, the King, and said, “There shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.” This created a great famine. At first, the prophet, Elijah, was being fed by the ravens that carried bread and meat to him each day. This “take-out” food lasted a while, but then the brook dried up. Have you ever been in a place where everything was going great and then “your brook dries up?” What are you going to do now? Maybe Elijah thought, “God will surely send me to the house of a rich person, who still has plenty of food.” But God didn’t. He said, “Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.” When he arrived, he might have thought that “dinner would be waiting,” but he finds that the widow and her son are “starving to death and she is baking her last cake!” Really, this is who the Lord will use? A starving widow, who is getting ready to bake her last little cake, so that she and her son will eat and then die? But God never makes a mistake and He uses “whom He will.” This blessing was not for Elijah, but for the “widow woman.” That’s a story! Today, trust God to use “whomever He will,” to “sustain” you and bless you! Have a great day! Sherry
