“Everybody wants to do the big stuff.”
I met Bobby when he was 18 and I was 17. He went to a church that he loved, but he knew God was calling him into ministry. He had just been healed of a speech impediment that he was born with! He got saved, healed, and filled with the Holy Spirit in one night. Even though God had spoken to him to go into far countries and preach the Gospel, Bobby was “ready for the big time,” now! But God spoke to Bobby and said, “If you want to preach around the world, you must do the small things first! Go and clean the toilets in your church!”
Bobby went and cleaned the church for a while. Then God said, “Go and wash your pastor’s car each week!” Bobby said, “But God, he has two lazy sons! Why can’t they clean it?” The Lord reminded Bobby of what David said, “I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” (Psalm 84:10) God blesses the “small things done in a big way.”
Have a great day!
