“When life gets stormy….” Luke 8:22

Storms are not fun, especially if you are in a small boat in Haiti! It happened to some missionaries and me when we were holding a Mobile Medical Clinic on La Gonâve Island. Bobby did not go because he was ministering in a crusade in the States. (This happened years ago.) For some reason, we had to take a small Haitian fishing boat back to the mainland. A storm broke out, the dark clouds came upon us, and soon the wind and rain began to beat the little boat. We were praying, but truthfully, we were scared to death! But we learn lessons in the “storms of life” that we can never learn on “the sunny days.”

If we read the story in Luke 8:22, you will see that Jesus said, “Let us go over unto the other side.” Don’t you know that the Master of the Seas knew ahead of time that the storm was coming? Of course, He did! He said, “Let us go over unto the other side.” Yes, storms hit believers and those who love the Lord. But as long as we are anchored in Jesus, He will bring us through!

Oh yes, that “scary boat ride…” We all began singing and praising the Lord, and then safely reached the other side, just as Jesus knew we would! Have a great day and “ride the storm out!” You will make it! Sherry
