Word from the Mission Field

“Don’t be afraid to make that decision…”

In II Kings 7:3, four leprous men were outside the gate of Samaria. They were between a “rock and a hard place.” If they went into the city, they would starve, because there was a great famine. But they could also fall into the hands of the Syrians, who would probably kill them. They had to “make a decision.” Many Christians are afraid to “make a decision,” because they are afraid they will make “the wrong decision.” So, you don’t think God is big enough to get you “back on track” even if you mess up? He is not that kind of God. We all make mistakes, and sometimes we don’t make the best decisions, but don’t just sit there and do nothing. As someone once said, “it is better to try and fail than to fail to try.” The lepers decided to leave at twilight and go into the camp of the Syrians, and guess what? Little did they know that the Lord had already sent an angel to allow the Syrians to “hear a great noise of chariots” and a “noise of a great host!” So, the Syrians had fled and left “food, clothing, and everything behind.” The lepers feasted, and then went and told the Samaritans, who were able to get food and raiment, and their lives were saved.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 30:21 what God will do if we get on the wrong track… “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” Don’t be afraid to make that decision! Have a great day! Sherry
