“Faith Without Works.”
Praying is powerful! It is wonderful! But, sometimes you have to “feed on our prayers.” The Book of James teaches us, “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?” James 2:15,16
When Bobby and I started our ministry, we began preaching on street corners with a microphone and a wire running into the bedroom of one of our African-American friends. Lots of people knew we had one child and one on the way, but none of our “church friends,” ever offered to give us “gas money,” or food, or take us out for a hamburger! It was a tough time during our life. That is why we always try to be “sensitive” to the Lord in our giving. The Lord may purposely put someone in your path with a real need. And when He does, be ready to go “the extra mile” for that need. Faith, without works, is dead!
Have a wonderful day, be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, be open “to that need,” and great blessings will “run you over!!”
