“God of the Mountains and God of the Valleys.”
I have always loved this song… “He’s God of the Mountains; He’s God of the Valleys.” God is God! Our circumstances do not change Him or who He is!!
There is a story in 1 Kings 20, beginning with Verse 23. Israel had just won a great battle against the Syrians. The servants of the king of Syria said, “Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain (the valley), and surely we shall be stronger than they.”
That really made God angry. “Thus saith the Lord, because the Syrians have said, the Lord is God of the hills (mountains), but He is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord… and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.” 1 Kings 20:28-29
God is God of the mountains, but He is also your God of the valleys!! Wow!! That’s good enough for me!!
