“In the Hands of the Potter.”
I can remember that song that I heard as a child, in our little country church… “Have thine own way, Lord. Have thine own way. Thou art the potter… I am the clay. Mold me and make me, after thy will. While I am waiting, yielded and still.”
It was written by Adelaide Pollard in 1907. What a song! In Jeremiah 8:4-6, God is showing Jeremiah how the house of Israel must be clay in the hands of the Lord. But this is for you and me today also. The potter took time to make the clay. But, it was marred, or not right, so he made it again, a new vessel. When we have tough times, perhaps it’s just that the “Potter” sees a couple of cracks in the “vessel,” so He does more work on it.
Today, find that song and listen to the words. The Lord is speaking to you and me today. But, don’t worry… “We’re in good hands!”
