“Total Obedience, Genesis 22:2”
This one scripture amazes me, especially when you think like a parent. The Lord God told Abraham, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.” Genesis 22:2

Look at the next verse, “And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of the young men with him, and Isaac his son, and split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up and went to the place of which God had told him.”

He may have spent the night in tears, and he may have had his heart ripped from his chest, but he rose “early” to obey God… to offer his own son, a sacrifice. What faith in God! Yet, the Lord speaks to our hearts to do something small, and we grumble and complain. He may tell you to “give your last mite,” or to “dip in the muddy river Jordan, for your healing,” or to gather lots of empty vessels, so your oil won’t run dry. But, He has never asked you to do what Abraham did! Obedience is better than sacrifice! Abraham’s obedience to God was greater than the sacrifice of his son! Today, if the Lord speaks to you to do something big, or small, no matter what it is, do it! God will bless you!!
