The winds are blowing, and the sea is rough!
Is the Lord talking to you this morning? Do you feel like you are in the middle of a storm? Are the winds blowing, and the sea rough?
One time, when Jesus was asleep in the bottom of the boat with his disciples, a huge storm came up. The disciples woke him up saying “Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:38-39
Another boat story from Mark 6:48-50… (There are two different boat stories in the book of Mark.) This time Jesus was not asleep on the boat. He had stayed behind on the mountain to pray. He sent his disciples away on the boat. In the middle of the night, Jesus looked across the sea, the winds were contrary, and He could see they were in trouble in the midst of the sea. Jesus came unto them “walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. But when they saw Him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw Him, and were troubled. And immediately He talked with them, and said unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.”
Today, I hear the Lord saying, “Peace, be still! Be of good cheer: it is I, be not afraid!” Jesus will calm the storm in your life.
