“Judge not, that ye be not judged…” Matthew 7:1
When my mother was alive, she was a “saint.” She never spoke ill of anyone, and she loved everyone, but most of her friends were kinda “nutty.” She had one friend, who was supposed to be a “lady preacher.” I will just call her Wanda. Wanda had long, straggly dark hair, a wart on her nose and bad breath, but she always claimed to be so holy. (But, she really liked men!) One day, Bobby and I were sitting in a little restaurant, eating, when Madamn “Holier-than-thou” walked in. I looked at Bobby, hoping she would not come to our table, because she always had a “word from the Lord” for us, and it was never good! She looked at me and said, “Sister Burnette, the Lord told me to tell you that you wear too much make-up and you are going to hell!” I looked at Bobby, who tried to keep on eating, not saying a word. I said, “Sister Wanda, it may be a sin for some of us to wear make-up, but it is a greater sin for some of us not to wear make-up!” She got so mad and huffed away. Some people go around judging all the time. We only have one judge, and His name is Jesus. Today, He is our Savior! Tomorrow, He is our Judge! Have a great day. Sherry
