Word from the Mission Field

“Be Still and Know that I Am God!”

I love a good church service. I must say that I really miss the African American church services where Bobby and I first began our ministry. I loved the music and the songs.

But, I also loved Katheryn Kuhlman’s services. She was different. She really believed in honoring and respecting the Holy Spirit. She wanted “no noise” or disruption because the “Holy Spirit could not move unless everything was in order. Bobby and I went one time when my daughter was a toddler. The baby slipped out of my arms and banged her head and began to cry. I tried to calm her down when immediately, two ushers came over to show me the way to “take my child outside” until she stopped crying. I understood. Some of us are too busy, too loud, and too “occupied,” to know when to keep still. “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

There’s a time to be loud and happy, and a time to be “still,” so the Holy Spirit can move. Let’s make sure we know the difference.
