“Tarrying by the Stuff…”
Over 33 years ago, we answered the “call” to go into many places around the world and preach the Gospel. Because our children were very small, there were times I needed to “stay behind and tarry by the stuff.” (I Sam. 30:24)
Sometimes, that is harder than going out to the “regions beyond.” It requires “being faithful, even though you are not in the battle,” you may have to “stay by the stuff.”
In Ist Samuel 30:24, some went to battle, and some stayed home, but when it came time to “claim the spoil,” David told his shoulders that all the spoil would be divided equally, whether they had to stay behind and watch the stuff, or “go to war.” Everyone would be blessed the same!
Sometimes, we have to go far into the mountains or other hard-to-reach areas to feed the hungry and preach the Gospel. But when we stand before the Lord, we will all be blessed and rewarded for our work! Thank you for giving, praying, and “staying by the stuff.”
