“Lo-debar” 2 Samuel 9:1-13

When Saul and Jonathan were killed in battle, David became king. David had always promised his best friend, Jonathan, that he would show kindness to his family. Jonathan had a son named “Mephibosheth,” who had been lame in both feet since he was a child. But where should they look for this “grandson of King Saul?” Someone said, “He’s in Lo-debar.” This village was dry, barren, and had no water or crops to grow. “Bring him to me,” said King David. In no time, David’s servants were dragging poor “Mephibosheth” before the King, his crooked legs trailing behind. Instead of being killed by King David, mercy came down!! David restored his family’s land to him and gave him servants to work it. But that’s not all… Kind David commanded Mephibosheth to “eat at the King’s table continually!”

So, get ready to leave your Lo-debar behind and let God move you up to the “King’s table!” We serve a big God.
