Word from the Mission Field

“Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.” Genesis 37:28

“And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.” Genesis 39:1-2

Joseph, who had dreams, had told his jealous brothers about his dreams… (Sometimes it is better not to reveal all that the Lord shows us in dreams or revelations.) His brothers cast their young brother into a pit; and later, a group of merchants came by and bought him for twenty pieces of silver. From there, even though he is in a bad situation, nothing could stop the blessings of God upon Joseph! The blessing was so great that it spilled over to his captives… “And the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had (the Egyptian captor) in the house, and in the field.” (Genesis 39:5-6)

God can bless you and prosper you “even in the bad times.” When God sees a problem, He already sees the solution. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob went through many trials, but God abundantly blessed all that they had.

Today, you may be in a “bad situation,” but you are serving a big God who blesses you and prospers you, even in the bad times! Don’t limit God! Some of our greatest blessings came in at the time of our greatest trials. So, begin to praise God ahead of time!!! He is the God of the bad times, as well as the good times, and He can bless you and prosper you, even in the bad times!! So, go ahead and praise Him for what He is “going to do!” Sherry
