“Rely on the Lord.”

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect towards Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 — The Lord had done some wonderful miracles for Asa, King of Judah. He had delivered the Ethiopians and the Lubims, a huge host, with “chariots and horsemen” without number into Asa’s hands. But another test was about to come his way. Baasha, the King of Israel, made war against Asa, King of Judah. But, instead of turning to the Lord, Asa went to the King of Syria, Ben-hadad, and paid him much silver and gold to come and fight this battle with him. It made God angry! The prophet of the Lord came to him and said, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the Lord thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand. 2 Chronicles 16:7 — God gets jealous when we don’t rely upon Him. He does not want us to trust “in the arm of flesh,” but in the Living God. Sometimes, we want to “look to man, instead of God.” But, God always wants to show Himself strong on behalf of His people. No matter what happens today, do not rely on anyone, but the Lord! Have a great day! Sherry
