When I was a little girl growing up in a small church in Pennsylvania, we would sing this song… “When I see the blood, I will pass over you…” I knew it had great meaning, but never understood until years later.
In Exodus 12, we see the last of ten plagues the Lord brought about over the Egyptians to make Pharaoh “let His captive people go!” For their protection, God commanded His people to put the blood of a sacrificial lamb on the doorposts of their house. When the “death angel” passed by, if he saw the blood on the doorposts, he would pass over. I knew then the meaning of that song that still stays in my heart… “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.”
Today, if you have accepted Jesus as your savior, it still has the same power! Be blessed! Sherry
