In 1 Kings 17:8-16, we read that there is a famine in the land, and God has sent a servant, Elijah, “right in the middle of the famine.” We might have thought that the Lord could have chosen to send His servant to a prosperous family who had a storage of grain and food in reserve. It’s not so. God is sending His best servant, His best prophet, to the home of a starving widow and little boy! Some people would say, “What kind of God would do that?”
But the blessing was not to be “food for Elijah,” but the blessing was to be “great provision for a poor widow and child!” The miracle got stirred up when the Prophet asked her to “bake him a cake first!” And, as hungry as she and her child were, she was to give her last cake to the prophet of God! Little did she know that as she was “baking her last cake,” the Lord was “cooking up a miracle for her and her son!”
Read the story! God may speak to your heart any time to “bake your last cake!” As you are “stirring up your last cake,” God already has a miracle in the oven for you! Blessings!
