“Obedience is Better than Sacrifice”

In 1st Samuel, Chapter 15, there is a great story about “obedience.” I’m sure that all of us at some time in our life have tried to “help God out!” Here we see the Prophet Samuel talking to Saul. Saul had just disobeyed the Lord, and then instead of repenting, Saul tried to make excuses for his disobedience. But the Prophet Samuel told Saul, “Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22)

God doesn’t delight in our “burnt offerings.” He delights in our obedience! Let’s listen to His still, small voice and obey. If we are wrong, God will put us on the right path! He always looks upon our heart! Have a great day!! Sherry
