Job’s God… If you think you are a “good Christian,” or if “you think you have made a great sacrifice to follow Jesus,” first read the “Book of Job!” I have read through several times and each time, I come away thinking what a “horrible, whining Christian” I am! I have been serving the Lord for many years but I have never gone through all the tragedies that Job has.

Job was once a wealthy, well respected man of God, loved by everyone, until one day, Satan had a talk with God and said, “You are always blessing and protecting Job! That’s the only reason he serves you… but take away his house, kill all his children, and cover him with boils, and he will not serve you.”

Read the Book of Job! In just a short time, he lost his children, his finances, and his health. But, he said the same thing as a song I heard many years ago:

“Though God slay me, yet I’ll trust Him.

I shall then, come forth as gold.

For I know that He is with me,

For I feel Him in my soul.”

The ending of that story is amazing! God gave him back more than he had, and blessed him with more children. God is a God of “restoration!” We love you!
