“Going out with a high hand…”

The 14th chapter of Exodus shows us that God still has everything under control, even when it looks like the devil has got us “boxed up in a corner.” The children of Israel are leaving Egypt, and God tells Moses to “send them towards the Red Sea;” a place where they would have the Red Sea on one side and the wilderness to the back of them… It looks like they are being caught in a trap. That’s just like Satan. He “thinks he has us ‘caught in a trap’.” (i.e. we can’t pay that bill, our spouse has left, our child is on drugs, or we have lost our job.) He thinks he has us cornered.

Now, Pharaoh is happy! He thinks the children of Israel are “caught in a trap.” But it is all a part of God’s great and mighty plan. “And the children of Israel went out with an high hand.” (Exodus 14:8)

God had it all lined up so that He could open the “Red Sea” for His children. Today, don’t ever think that God has forgotten you. It is all a part of His plan so that He can show Himself strong. “You are going out with a high hand!” It’s going to work out for your good! Sherry
