Are You “Expecting a Miracle?”
In Luke Chapter One, we see the real “gift” of Christmas. It is the tale of two miracles… an elderly lady, named Elizabeth is married to a priest, Zacharias. But, she is a special lady… the is of the lineage of Aaron, the brother of Moses. The situation looks hopeless for her to have a baby before she dies. But, an Angel of the Lord appears unto her and lets her know, she is about to conceive a child… in her old age. It happens. Elizabeth is “expecting.”
Over in the little town of Galilee, named Nazareth, an angel appears to a young virgin, named Mary. She is told she will conceive a child of the Holy Ghost and will call his name Jesus.
An Angel appears to Mary and tells her, “And behold, thy cousin, Elizabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God, nothing shall be impossible!” Luke 1:37
Both the elderly Elizabeth and the virgin, Mary, were “expecting” a miracle. Today, if you have been praying and trusting God for a miracle, start “expecting the miracle” to come. “For with God, nothing shall be impossible!” Have a wonderful Christmas! We all can rejoice in the miracle of Jesus, God’s only son, who is our greatest Christmas Gift! Merry Christmas!
