“He knows your name…”

Sometimes it is hard to believe with all the people on earth, in different countries and in different languages, that God still knows our name. He not only knows our name, but He knows our very thoughts!!

Just think “how small and insignificant” we feel, that the God who created the Universe and knows the names of all the stars in Heaven, knows our name, too.

A story has been told of a missionary working in Mexico… He had come to the States, and was returning when he had just crossed the border in a rough area… There were some cars lined up. He found himself in the middle of the “cartel.” They were pulling people out of the car, one by one, and beat them very badly. He sat in his car praying and listening to a song that said, “He knows my name.”

Just as they came towards him something happened, and they waved him on, and he went through. That experience shook him up, and each time he hears that song he is reminded that the Lord knew him, knew everything about him and that God knows his name. “But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, ‘Fear not:’ for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)

We are God’s children, all of us, just as Israel is. He knows our name. He knows what we will face today and tomorrow, and He has it all figured out. That’s how important “your name is” to God! He has not forgotten you, and He has known you since before you were born! So, have a good day. God has it all “under control.” Sherry
