“Write this on your hand, on your head, and in your heart.”

When Moses was repeating all the laws and commandments of God, he began with this commandment… “The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:” Deut. 6:4-6

Then, I read something I had never understood before… “And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.” Deut. 6:8

I wondered about this, so I decided to research this a little… In those days, there were few copies of the Law. It was read-only at the Feast of Tabernacles. God wanted to make sure that His commandments were constantly in front of his people, so He told them to “write them on their hands, that is, write it on parchment and wrap it around your wrist, and, on your forehead, between your eyes…”

But David summed it up when he said this…”His Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee…” Psalms 119:11 This is the best place to hide the Word of God…in your heart!
