Part Two – “The Show-Down”… “Take another look.”

Elijah has just proved himself against a mob of idol worshippers… and they all ended up “dead.” There has been a horrible drought in the land…

Now, Elijah tells King Ahab, “you better get going. I hear the sound of an abundance of rain.” Then, Elijah goes up to Mt. Carmel and falls to the ground, praying for rain. He sent his servant to “look towards the sea” for any sign of rain. The servant returned and said, “There is nothing.” Elijah said, “Go again seven times…” In other words, “Take another look!”

Elijah finally saw a small cloud, the size of a man’s hand. That was enough for him! He was “getting out of Dodge!” He even outran King Ahab and his chariot! And, there was a “great rain!”

Sometimes when God promises us something, don’t give up. It may not come today, or tomorrow… depending what it is, it may not come for a month, or longer… but, God is saying, “Don’t be discouraged! I promised you! Keep on looking for the answer!”

If it doesn’t come, “take another look,” and “another” and don’t give up! God’s time clock is different… Even if He’s “four days late,” He’s always on time!
