“Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hands, so are ye in mine hand…” Jeremiah 18:6
“Cleaning the Clay” or “Cleaning us Up!”
This must be the hardest job. Now, as the potter is kneading the clay and rolling it between his hands, he is looking for any small pebble, or a tiny twig, or anything that does not belong. The clay is often placed on the “table” and beaten with sticks until it is smooth. Thus, it is easier to see if all of the impurities have been removed. If all of the impurities and air pockets have not been removed, the clay could explode when placed in the furnace! Or, it could damage other vessels in the oven.
Have you ever felt that this is what the Lord has done in your life? Sometimes, we want to “jump off the table” before we are ready! There’s a purpose in everything the Lord does in our life! He is getting the twigs, shaft, and dirt out of our lives so that He can use us… The Lord knows exactly how to do this… Hang in there! You will soon be that beautiful vessel that God can use! Sherry
