“The Potter and the Clay… Into the Furnace.”
What a lot of work has taken place already… the “clay” in the hands of the potter. But, He is not finished yet. With all that the vessel has been put through, it’s now “ready for the fire.” The heat is turned up to approximately 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. As the heat is turned up, it seals the vessel. If the potter had put water into this vessel before it “hit the furnace,” the vessel would have cracked and broken. It would not have been worth anything. But now, the “clay vessel,” is hardy, sturdy, and will hold water. It is not easily “breakable,” because it’s been through the fire.
Satan is an expert at “putting us to the test.” The “heat” was turned up on Job, but as he lay there with all his children dead, all his cattle and wealth gone, and his body covered with oozing sores, he knew that “his redeemer liveth!” God knows “how much you can take.” But remember, Jesus was the “fourth man in the fire.” He is always near you. He has never left you!
“Behold as clay is in the potter’s hands, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.” Jeremiah 18:6
You and I are the “clay” in the hands of Jesus, the great potter! Do not fear! You will be a vessel fit for use for the Master’s Kingdom!
God bless you, Sherry
