Word from the Mission Field

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Think it not strange that you and I are in a period of “waiting.” We are all shut-in due to the coronavirus. God has placed us in a spot so that we have to “wait.” It’s tough for us, who are used to “not waiting!” We want it all, and we want it right now!

Eagles are born with big, heavy wings. You would think that they would go around “flapping their wings all day” to get where they are going, but they do not because they cannot. If they used their wings, they would tire out so fast and not be able to attain the heights or distances they travel. They have to “wait” on “wind thermals” to come to them. Then, they take the “wind thermals” that take them “higher and further” than you can imagine, and they don’t have to “flap!” They may wait for days for a “wind thermal” to come along. They are not impatient. They are just “waiting” for the right “wind thermal” to come and take them higher and further than they have been before!

It’s hard for us “workaholics” to wait for anything. But just as the Lord has shut us in, we are to “wait” upon Him. It will be worth it when that “wind thermal” comes our way with the “answer” to your prayer!

So, hang in there, “eagles!” Victory is ahead! Sherry
