“What is That, in Thine Hand?” Part 2

God has put in all of us, the will to succeed over everything. However, the people around us often have a negative effect on our lives. We sometimes begin to think that we cannot possibly do what God wants us to do, or be what God wants us to be. Every miracle in the Bible happened because someone was outnumbered by “something or someone.”

When David fought Goliath, the Lord wasn’t sending Goliath to “kill David,” but to “reveal to David,” who His God was! David against Giant? The Giant was already “outnumbered,” by that little 17-old year old who kept his father’s sheep. What was that in David’s hand? Just five stones and a sling? All David could do, was to use what God put in his hand!!

Now, imagine Sampson… that “long-haired” guy you wouldn’t want in your church! To avenge the Philistines, he caught 300 foxes, tied their tails together, tied torches with fire on them, and sent them into the fields of the Philistines! He went to Gaza, and took off at night with the “doors to the gate of the city, along the with posts!” But here’s the one I love…

After he had been bound with new cords and brought before the Philistines, “he found a new jawbone of an ass (which would have been hard and heavy) and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.” That donkey jawbone, in Sampson’s hand, became an AK-47! Don’t you just love it!!!

Today, no matter what problems surround us, God has put within us the power to overcome and to succeed… not because of who we are, but because of who He is! You Don’t Need a Whole Lot! Just Use What You Got!!
