Faith, hope, and love… which is greater?

“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity [love], it profiteth me nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:3

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

In the King James Version, 1 Corinthians 13 uses the word charity. The Greek word for love in this verse is agape love, which means unconditional sacrificial love. God’s love.

The Bible says, “charity (love) shall cover the multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8) Love is the most powerful force on earth!
