Word from the Mission Field

Word from the Mission Field

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord, our God.” Psalm 20:7

In Bible days, wars were “wars!” They tell me that in Bible days, when the enemy surrounded the people of God, the horse’s hooves sounded like thunder, hitting the ground! Just imagine being “out-numbered,” by your small army, and looking out to see the enemy surrounding you, “as the sand on the sea.” Just to hear those huge horses, with all the army gear on the backs of the enemies, and their feet pounding the ground and coming at you, at a terrific speed, it would almost give one a “heart attack.” That’s why God told His people, “When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them… for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 20:1

We are just as much “the people of God,” as the Israelites were. Sometimes, we feel we are surrounded by the enemy, whether it be coronavirus, or lack of funds, or a sickness, or anything that tries to bring fear into our lives, always remember that “we are on the winning side,” and with God, we are never, never out-numbered!
