“Just Because You Lost a Battle.”

Life has its “ups and downs,” just like a roller coaster. The thing about it is, that all Christians think they will win every single battle. Something goes wrong and you think that “God has you down.” But He hasn’t…

Joshua 7:4- “So there went up thither of the people (Israelites), about 3,000 men: and they fled before the men of Ai. And the men of Ai smote them, about thirty-six men, for they chased them.”

Here we see Israel, God’s chosen people (the ones He did the miracles for, opened up the Red Sea, conquered their enemies, etc.). Now, they have “egg on their face,” and their “tail between their legs.” They have lost and they feel humiliated and discouraged.

You may have lost a battle or two along your life’s roadside. Maybe you have “just recently lost one.” A divorce, a wayward child, lost a job, a health battle… There are many, many, kinds of battles, but, God has not deserted us! He picks us up, as He did the Israelites.

“Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise and go to Ai; see, I have given unto thy hand Ai and all his people.” Joshua 8:1

Just because you have lost a battle, doesn’t mean you’ve lost the war! Get back up and “fight the good fight of faith!” God is on your side and you are on the “winning side” with God! Sherry
