In the seventh chapter of Isaiah, we find that two great kings, “Rezin, the King of Syria, and Pekah, the son of King Remaliah, King of Israel,” are going to war against Jerusalem in Judah. They wanted to make a breach and overthrow Jerusalem and put their own king in place. Even though Ahaz was not a godly king, it is the Lord who fights for His people. God sent the Prophet Isaiah to Ahaz with these words, “Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.” (Isaiah 7:7)
