Word from the Mission Field

“Giving God the glory… all the glory.”

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always heard the pastor preach about “giving God all the glory.” The late wonderful Katheryn Kuhlman always made sure that she gave God all the glory for any healing that happened during her ministry. The Spirit of God would sweep across the congregation and heal people “while they were in the audience,” and then they would come forth and testify. My daddy was a “sinner.” He never went to church, he drank a lot and did other things. He would get drunk and lock my mother and all of us kids “outside” in the snow when we came home from church. His niece had cancer of the female organs, so she went to the Katheryn Kuhlman meeting and felt the Holy Spirit move upon her and she was healed! She went back to the doctor, and they said there was “no cancer.” She lived a long life. That touched my father, but not enough for him to “give God all the glory.”

In the book of Acts 12:20, King Herod “put his royal clothes on and sat on his throne and gave a speech.” It must have been a speech about him “being a god, or like a god,” because the people gave a shout and said, “It is the voice of a god and not of a man.” (Acts 12:22) And “the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.” It is our prayer that we never take any “glory” from the God who has made everything possible, even the air we breathe.

“I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.” (Psalm 86:12) Be blessed and give God all the glory! Sherry
