“God Will Burn Your Barley Fields.” (A great message from the “late” Jack Coe).

Therefore, he (Absalom), said unto his servant, “See, Joab’s field is near, and he hath barley there; Go and set it on fire. And Absalom’s servants set the field on fire.” 2 Samuel 14:30

You may wonder why Absalom did this. It was because he called for Joab several times, and Joab would not listen… So, Absalom sent his servants to set fire to Joab’s barley field, to get his attention. And, it did!

Sometimes, you may wonder why something strange has happened in your life, and you may feel like someone “whopped you on the head!” Maybe it was the Lord, trying to get your attention.

Years ago before we moved to Haiti, we did a lot of Evangelism. Bobby had a huge Gospel tent that we loved! In fact, he was thinking about buying a “bigger tent,” but, the calling of God was on our lives for Haiti. Bobby didn’t want to go to Haiti. He had some bad experiences long before in Haiti, and he said, “I’ll never go back.” (Don’t tell God what you “never will do.”)

One day, when his big tent was up in the states (with a beautiful blue sky and perfect weather), a storm came out of nowhere!!! It ripped the tent to pieces and sent the chairs and organ into the street, everything was covered with water! It was as if God was saying, “I told you to go to Haiti… so I had to get your attention!”

Don’t be surprised at what the Lord will do to get your attention. But, when you are in “God’s assignment,” that’s where your blessings will be… and that’s when you are in “God’s perfect will. Oh, Lord, let us hear Your Voice and be obedient to You!” Sherry
