Word from the Mission Field

“Some Kind of Trouble?”

Have you ever been, or are you now, in “some kind of trouble?” Everyone’s trouble is different. Having your car repossessed… you just found out you have cancer and the doctor has given you a “bad report?” That’s “some kind of trouble!” You just realized your child is on drugs? Your marriage has gone bad? You have lost your job? Your enemies are after you? That’s some kind of trouble!

David, in the Bible, faced many troubles… maybe not the kind you are facing, but he had enemies chasing him for many, many years, like King Saul. David committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband killed in war; David’s own son that he loved, turned against him and tried to kill him and take over his throne. That’s “some kind of trouble.”

David said, “The waves of death compassed me.

The floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about.

The snares of death surrounded me.”

But, “In my distress, I called upon the Lord and cried to my God, and He did hear my voice out of His temple and my cry did enter into His ears.” He had gotten “God’s attention,” after being in “Some Kind of Trouble!” Today, we serve the same God; David and He will do the same for you when you get into “Some Kind of Trouble.” Have a great day, Sherry
