“A Still Small Voice…”
“… And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake, a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a ‘still small voice.’” 1 Kings 19:11-12
No wonder we miss the “voice of the God.” We spend our time looking for the strong wind, the earthquake, or the fire. We get so caught up in this that we miss the “still, small quiet voice.” Kathryn Kuhlman was a minister in the 1970s, she believed in respecting the house of God, and she always waited for the “Holy Spirit.” She would not allow talking, or any type of noise in her service, while she waited for the Holy Spirit to minister to the sick. If a baby was crying, a sweet usher would come by and show the mother to the “ladies’ room” to quiet her child.
In the busiest of your day, each day, always listen for the “still small voice,” and don’t be distracted by the things that Satan throws at you. He is there waiting to “grab your attention” and put it in the “storm,” instead of “the Master of the sea.” Have a great day and listen to the “still small voice.” Sherry
