“My Sheep Know My Voice”
The tenth chapter of the book of John verses 1-18 is all about the relationship between the shepherd and the sheep.
“…and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, He goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.“ John 10:3-4
We are all His sheep. All we must do is follow Him and listen to His voice. We heard an evangelist once who ministered from this chapter. He had gone to Israel and visited a shepherd with sheep. He said, “when the sheep would lay down, they would wait till the shepherd got up and then they got up. He called them and they followed him.”
He told the shepherd, “let me try that!” He tried and tried to get the sheep to follow him. Then, he tried calling them exactly as the shepherd had but, the sheep did not move!
Finally, the shepherd got up, the sheep got up, the shepherd called them and they took off following the real shepherd. We are His sheep! We know His voice, and a stranger we will not follow.
Have a great day, following the Good Shepherd!
