“It Wasn’t My Fault!”
In Exodus 32:(24) “And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it to me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.” — We see Moses coming down from the mountain, where he has been in the presence of God. He has found out that the people have made themselves a golden calf and are worshipping it. But even worse, his brother Aaron was the one who let them do it and encouraged them. Aaron is trying to worm his way out, by saying that Moses was up on the mountain and the people were getting anxious. “And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it to me; then I cast it into the fire, and out came this calf!”
Really? That golden calf “just came out by itself?” When you break a commandment and do not repent, it brings more trouble. I heard a song today that said, “Don’t let the devil ride. If you let him ride, he’ll drive!” Don’t give him a chance, and when you do “mess up” just tell the Lord you’re sorry, and “don’t let the devil ride.” Have a great day in Jesus! Sherry
