“That’s not what makes us who we are!”

The Bible teaches us this:

The Lord is speaking through His prophet Isaiah saying, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” (Isaiah 43:2)

Our trials are actually more valuable than our blessings… These things are what “makes us who we are.” Bobby and I, and our Love A Child workers, are facing a great trial, a great enemy… It is like a flood of many waters; it is worse than a hurricane and it is “hotter than hell!” It is the “trial of our faith!” But we stand fast on God’s Word that we will come through the waters, the floods, the storms, the rivers, the fire, and not be burned! After all, it’s not the sunshine and the gentle breezes that make us who we are. It’s not the cool, green valley full of trees and flowers that makes us “who we are in Christ!” It’s the floodwaters that are trying to drown us. It’s the rivers trying to carry us away. It’s the fire, the “trial of our faith.” These are the things that make “us Christians” who we are! And you and I, we shall all come forth!!!
