Word from the Mission Field

“It’s not how we start out, but how we finish the race…”  Continued from yesterday…

“Let us run the with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1,2

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7,8

Sherry posted yesterday in her 6:00 a.m. post how King Uzziah started out so well, but his ending was not good. If you can, go back and read her post again. It was a powerful word.

It’s easy to let things distract us as we walk for the Lord, to become discouraged and lose our focus. I have seen the Lord bless some people so much that they become very boastful and proud, and the pride of life slips in. We have to be careful how we receive the blessings of the Lord and walk humbly before Him.

It’s not how we start out, but how we finish this race before the Lord!
